Our Commitment to Accessibility

Heritage Wellness & Med Spa is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone.

Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to resolve these issues.

  • Semantic HTML: Landmark regions, headings, and lists are used to convey document structure to assistive technologies.
  • ARIA labels: Icon-only buttons and social links include descriptive `aria-label` attributes; external links announce that they open in a new tab.
  • Decorative media: Non-informative images, videos, and icons are marked with `aria-hidden="true"` so screen readers skip them.
  • Alt text: Informative images include meaningful text alternatives.
  • Reduced motion: Animations respect the user's `prefers-reduced-motion` setting.
  • Responsive text: Content reflows cleanly at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Form labels: Form fields are explicitly associated with visible labels and provide validation feedback accessible to screen readers.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Third-party embedded content: Maps, forms, and other embedded tools from third-party providers may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility of these elements depends on the vendor.
  • Legacy media assets: Older image assets may not always include optimized alt text; we are auditing and updating these progressively.
  • External audit: A formal third-party accessibility audit has not yet been completed. Our conformance claim is based on internal self-evaluation.
